Next Show - Model Rail Scotland, SECC - 26-28 Feb 27 - Layout description updates August 2026
Lockdown Lane, as the name suggests, was built during the Covid lockdown. It was built by a club member with the intention to ensure it was a viable layout to use and run at home. The layout baseboards were delivered as a flat pack kit ready for assembly.
The layout is set in the late 1970s and early 1980s and recreates a fuelling and stabling point in an industrial setting with a small workshop for wagon repair. The buildings and background scenery are kit built and the benefit of such a small layout is the fact that this allows the modeller to concentrate on the fine details of the detritus lying around the area and any wildlife on the prowl.
The points are powered by servos for smooth and realistic changeover.
The layout is 6' by 2' and dcc controlled
It has been exhibited at :-
